     I have always liked the layout and texturing of Macabre, but felt the map got bogged down by high r_speeds and lack of proper clipping. I think the 'red brick' texturing of this map was inspired by the screenshots of Contaminate by headshot, which were floating around at the time. This map received a very positive review from the long closed Deathmatch Pineapple, operated by PeeJ and underscore. They liked it so much, they worked with me to produce a 'Pineapple' remix of the map, which is available as rtldm2p here. The remix adds clip brushes and loses some of the trim and details, making the map a little faster and smoother to play.
